This Is Where New People Are Made – Literally

To mark its anniversary year, Ikaalinen Spa & Resort launched a one-of-a-kind campaign last year: if a new life began during your spa holiday, the family would receive a free return stay. Now, the first babies conceived during the campaign have arrived – and prize holidays will begin to be redeemed from 28th February. One thing is certain: more new people will be made in Ikaalinen.
One of the new parents, Heidi, shares her story:
“After our holiday, my partner came across an article online about the campaign, and we thought – what are the chances? Did we unknowingly take part – and succeed? Just a week later I took a pregnancy test, and it was positive. At the end of December, our family grew by one little princess.”
Another particularly touching story came from a couple who invited their adult children and grandchildren for a spa holiday. A few months later, their son’s partner announced she was expecting – and just a week after that, their daughter shared the same news.
“The campaign proved how truly meaningful moments can happen during a spa holiday,” reflects Aho. “People have been soaking and relaxing here for 140 years – and that tradition continues with new generations.”
A Year of Renewal
This successful campaign is part of Ikaalinen Spa & Resort’s wider journey of renewal and growth. “This year, the theme of renewal is coming to our corporate clients too. We promise: your team will leave transformed,” says Aho.
Renewal is the guiding principle of Ikaalinen Spa & Resort as it works towards becoming the most intriguing spa destination in the Nordics. In addition to ongoing development projects, a full zoning revision for the area has been launched – paving the way for high-quality, long-term investment.
“Summer 2025 will follow the theme ‘If kids could decide’ – meaning we’ll turn children’s dreams of the perfect holiday into reality. We’ll also host a lively season of events and festivals. Our goal is to be a place where the whole family feels at home, where unforgettable memories are made – and where, when people feel good in themselves and with each other, new people are born.”
